Finals' Heartbreak for our Brave Teams!

Hard luck to our football teams who lost out in their respective finals this weekend.

The girls were first up on Friday, 22nd against Gaelscoil na Ríthe. The girls fought hard in the first half but were down 1-4 to no score at half time. The second half saw three points from Kildalkey quickly followed by two goals for Gaelscoil na Ríthe, to leave them 11 points down, 3-5 to 0-3. Then the girls showed their mettle. Three goals from Sarah, Larissa and Amelia put the girls into contention, two points down with only a few minutes left! However, a late goal from Gaelscoil na Ríthe put the result beyond doubt. However, Kildalkey's fighting qualities were truly to be admired!

The boys were next up on Saturday against Oldcastle. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be the boys day. Three whirlwind goals for Oldcastle put them into a commanding lead. Try as they might, the boys couldn't breach the Oldcastle defence for the goal they needed to make a fight of it. The half time score was Oldcastle 4-4 Kildalkey 0-3. A goal from Ali/Cian and some superb points from Billy were the highlight of the second half which saw Oldcastle finish strongly to win the title. Hard luck to the boys who battled bravely to the end.

Well done to both teams on getting that far and thank you to the Parents' Association who paid for the treats afterwards in Supermacs.

Shoebox Appeal

2019ShoeboxAppeal

The recent Shoebox Appeal, organised by Angie was a phenomenal success!

120 shoeboxes were donated to the worthy cause, which have been sent to countries far and wide.

Well done to all the generous families who donated shoeboxes - your generosity is greatly appreciated. Thank you also to Gerry who transported all the shoeboxes.

Finally, a big thank you to Angie who helped organise the Appeal!

Appeal for Pakistan

The school recently donated money from the Hallowe'en dress up day to the appeal for Pakistan.

In October, Pakistan was rocked by a huge earthquake which destroyed many of the towns and killed thousands.

When the school heard about the tragedy, they decided to donate their funds from the Hallowe'en dress up, in honour of Father Amir.

Father Amir then came in and spoke to the school about Pakistan and how the tragedy has affected his country.

Thanks to Fr. Amir for coming in and well done to all who supported the cause!
