Dear Parents,
In order to facilitate the setting up of the SeeSaw App, we are asking all parents to email their class teacher. Your class teacher will then email you the code required for SeeSaw along with the consent form needed. Note - a typed signature will suffice.
We hope to have the app up and running by Wednesday.
Until then, work has been put up on the website.

Statement re Sacramental Ceremonies 2020
Statement regarding Sacramental Ceremonies 2020 / Ballivor & Kildalkey Parish.
Many Parents and teachers are wondering about Confirmation and Holy Communion ceremonies. We will have to wait until schools are reopened and church ceremonies are allowed before we can realistically answer these questions. It seems likely that church gatherings will be somewhat down the line and certainly not in any initial phase of restriction lifting.
Please continue to teach your children the programme of preparation along with their prayers and every weekend try to watch Mass on TV or online.
Every Saturday evening at 7pm, Fr Mark broadcasts Mass on Facebook live, this is an excellent opportunity for children and adults to keep in touch with Mass.

With so much talk of unprecedented times, we would like to gather and compile a written/ historical account outlining what life during Corona virus was like for you the children /families. We would love to compile a book documenting life for our pupils and are calling for pupils to enter our Living History Project.
The Project will open for entries on May 1st and close on May 8th- Full entry details to follow at a later date.
This is a competition project and not compulsory and while there is no formal homework to be given over the scheduled Easter break, you may wish to work on your entry.
There will be 2 prizes per class and entries can be;
$1· A story/Essay.
$1· A diary style account.
$1· Factual or fictional, but based on life during this time.
$1· Mock newspaper style piece.
$1· A Good News style piece.
$1· Poem.
Secondly and separately, there is an art competition with 1 main prize per class.
The Heading is; “Not all Superheroes wear Capes!”
This is a tribute to all the amazing health care staff, frontline workers, gardaí, armed forces and all the staff working in our shops, food supply chains, hauliers, farmers and food producers!
Your art can be;
$1· An A4 sketch, painting or print.
$1· A piece of sculpture/model or Lego creation.
$1· A photographic composition with a caption and description.
Once again we stress that this is not homework and the children need to relax and enjoy the Easter holidays, but we look forward to working together to create a piece of history that we can look back on in years to come.
Wishing you all a very safe and happy Easter,
The Staff of Kildalkey National School.
