Intel Grant

Kildalkey NS were recently the benefactors of a grant from the company Intel.

Due to a volunteer work scheme put in place by Intel, volunteers worked enough hours to bank a total of $1,210.

A lot of thanks needs to be given to all volunteers who came in during the school year for various different projects but particularly Joanne and Philip who helped co-ordinate between the school and Intel.

A consortium of parents and students, along with Miss Pykett, collected the grant last Tuesday, 25th April.

Thanks again to Intel and all who assisted throughout the year.

MDL Soccer 2017

Well done to the boys and girls from 5th and 6th class who took part in the MDL soccer competition this year.

The boys played on Friday, 10th March. The A team, captained by Gareth, did extremely well winning two games by margins. The last match, against Yellow Furze, went the way of the Navan team but the boys can hold their head high. The B teams, backboned by many from 5th class, battled bravely but lost a couple of tight games by one goal margins. However, they will have learned from the experience and will look to go one better next year!

The girls played on Monday, 13th March. The A team were in a very difficult group. Though they did well to get a good draw with Ballivor, they lost both of their other games to very good teams.

The B team, again backboned by many from fifth class, made it through to the quarter finals. With Grace saving everything that came her way in goals and Caoimhe scoring many goals, they did extremely well and were unlucky to be beaten in the quarter finals.

Well done to both teams on their performances and their behaviour, both of which was excellent.
