Back to School Info for Parents

We welcome all students back to school on Friday, 27th August. We look forward to an exciting year ahead. Most of the same restrictions from last year will still apply. Please note the following pieces of information.

Times

The opening times will be staggered again this year.

We are asking students from families with one students in the school to enter the school between 9.20 and 9.30.

Students from families with more than one student in the school are asked to enter the school between 9.30 and 9.40.

Please note - the school will not be open to students before 9.20.

In the afternoon, classes will leave at different times. Misneach and Feileacain will leave at 1.50, Junior and Senior Infants at 2.00. 1st and 2nd class will leave at 2.50, 3rd and 4th class at 2.55 and 5th and 6th class at 3.00.

Tubs

Students are asked to bring tubs for their school books and copies this year.

Students from Junior Infants to 2nd Class are asked to purchase 35 litre tubs (approx), students from 3rd Class to 6th Class are asked to purchase 50/55 litre tubs.

Note - students are asked to bring in their books and copies gradually over the first few days and not to try bring all books and copies in on the first day, as they can be quite heavy to carry in.

Doors

Misneach and Feileacáin enter via the main School Entrance.

Junior and Senior Infants are asked to enter via the door in the PE Hall closest to the school pitch.

5th and 6th Class are asked to enter via the door past the pitch gate entry.

Money

We are asking that no money be brought into the school this week and to wait until the week starting Monday August 30th.

 Declaration Form

All returning students will need to have a signed declaration form with them. They can be downloaded here. Please send in with the students for Friday, 27th August.

Sporting Stars

Kildalkey NS has had some very successful past students of late, making waves on the inter county scene.

Brian O'Halloran, who won a Division 2 football title with the school played at corner back for the minor football team, who won provincial honours with Meath as they defeated Dublin in the Leinster football final.

Minors

Clodagh Colhoun, Robyn Dunne and Laura O'Sullivan, all of whom played in Div. 2 camogie finals for Kildalkey NS (with Robyn and Clodagh both winning finals in 2016) all played for the Meath minor camogie team who defeated Armagh on 25th June.

Conor Fitzgerald won an All Ireland B medal playing for the Meath Under 20 Hurling team, who defeated Derry on 11th August. Conor lined out at wing back for the Royals. Niall McNally was also part of the panel. Niall and Conor played for the school for many years, winning Division 1 hurling medals in 2012.
