Boys' Football Final
Well done to our boys who qualified for the Division Two football final last Thursday, 14th November.
Playing a formiddable team in Yellow Furze, the boys settled to the task well. Two quickfire goals from Eoghan and Cian put Kildalkey in the driving seat. A five point lead at half time put Kildalkey into a good position and when Dylan netted straight after half time, they were in the ascendancy. Points from Billy, Cian, Luke put the result beyond doubt and when Cian Mc fired home with ten minutes left, Kildalkey were going through!
The boys' final is against Oldcastle next Saturday in Páirc Tailteann at 1.00. All support is welcome!
Girls' Final
Well done to our terrific girls' team who have reached the final in their football division!
Playing Scoil Naomh Eoin, who had beaten the girls earlier in the year, Kildalkey warmed to the task. Goals from Sarah D, Amelia, Sarah C along with a brilliant point from Larissa put Kildalkey in a two goal lead at half time, 4-1 to 2-1.
Scoil Naomh Eoin rose to the task though, and fought back gamely. When they hit the equalising point with two minutes left, things looked bleak for Kildalkey who had had to withstand a lot of pressure in that second half. However, there was time for one more attack and when Larissa centred the ball for Sarah, she powered it to the net for the winning goal!
Well done to the girls, lead by their captains Jessica and Niamh. Their brave defensive effort in the second half saw excellent defensive performances from Alannah, Jessica, Hollieanne and Ellie in front of goalkeeper Niamh who pulled off some great saves. Trojan efforts in midfield saw Orla and Sarah get through a lot of work. The forwards got some great scores from Sarah D, Amelia and Larissa with Sarah J and Eva getting through a lot of work and getting on a lot of ball.

Well done to all the girls - their final will take place on Friday, 22nd November.
Kildalkey - Senior Hurling Champions
A massive congratulations to Kildalkey who won the Senior Hurling final at the weekend.
It was particularly pleasing to see so many past pupils on the team play such a prominent role.
David Conneely, Gary Kelly, Brín Kelly, James McNally, David Harmon, Mark Healy, Nicky Potterton, Paddy Conneely, Niall McNally, Martin Healy, Luke Rickard, Evan Fitzgerald, Conor Kearney, Brian Conneely, Matt Rickard, Martin Browne, Conor Fitzgerald, Ben Rickard and Tiarnán Bird all went through the school in recent years and the school is very proud of its past players.
Well done to Kildalkey and its management on its success.

The team and coaches are coming to the school tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd October, and we look forward to celebrating their success with them!

Team Visits the School!
The school today celebrated with the Senior Hurling Champions of 2019.
The Kildalkey panel and its management arrived in with the cup from the weekend!
There was a lot of cheering, celebrating and singing, lots of blue and white and plenty of loud voices!
It was great to see so many past pupils back on stage, back years after playing and developing their skills in the school.
We heard great speeches from team captain Gary Kelly, managers Pat O'Halloran and Daire Lahart and current players Luke Rickard and James McNally.
Thanks too to the team who gave the school homework off!
We hope to see them all back before too long!
Boys March into Quarter Final
The boys recently qualified for the quarter finals in Division Two, when defeating Gaelscoil na Bóinne.
Playing good football in Dunganny, the boys opened up a 1-8 to 0-1 half time lead. Gaelscoil replied with two early goals in the second half, but Kildalkey eventually upped the tempo again to see off the spirited Gaelscoil side.

Well done to Kildalkey on a good performance and we look forward to seeing them in the quarter final!
