Girls Record Great Win

Well done to the Kildalkey girls' football team who recorded a great win over Oldcastle in today's game in Kildalkey.

DSC 1274

Whilst some showers threatened to put a dampener on proceedings, the Kildalkey girls' performance ensured that was never going to be the case.

DSC 1275

With some sterling performances in defence, added to two hard working shows in the middle of the field from Lydia and Holly, the girls were never to relinquish the lead that their forwards gave them.

Overall, it was a good finish to what was a tough campaign for the Kildalkey girls. Well done to them on their win today!

Kildalkey Make Semi Final!!

Well done to the boys' football team who qualified for the semi finals today after beating Ballivor NS.

DSC 1267

With many fourth and fifth class playing, today was a chance for them to prove their worth - and boy, did they take their chance!

DSC 1272

Starting at a brisk pace, they put some fine scores on the board early. When Robbie finished to the net, it put Kildalkey eight points up. Though Ballivor rallied and scored two points, Kildalkey finished the half the stronger and another goal put them ahead at the break 2-8 to 0-2. Indeed, the half had seen some fine performances from Cameron, Patrick, Liam, Brian and Brandon whilst all the forwards did well with some fine scores.

The second half was a far more even affair. Ballivor scored a goal early in the half and took the fight to Kildalkey. Kildalkey's defence and midfield did well to hold them at bay. Goals from Liam and Brian, right at the death, secured the win for Kildalkey and ensured they went the entire division unbeaten.

Well done to all involved and we look forward to the semi final!

Croke Park Debuts

Well done to Ciarán, Gavin and Lee who played in exhibition matches at halftime during Meath's two matches in Croke Park this summer.

Gavin played at half time in the game between Meath and Kildare while Lee and Ciarán had the privilege of playing at half time in the Leinster final between Meath and Dublin.

Well done to the three boys on their Croke Park debuts - hopefully, they'll represent Meath there again in the future!

Boys' Football Match v St. Anne's

Well done to our boys' football team who started the new Cumann na mBunscol campaign on a high with a hard earned win over St. Anne's NS, Navan.

In a very competitive match, the boys did very well to be leading at half time, perhaps fortuitously as they hadn't played their best football. Two goals from Ryan helped them into that half time lead of 2-1 to 1-3.

However, in a tight second half, the boys produced some excellent attacking football paired with good defensive qualities. Working the ball up from the defense, they put over some beautiful scores to ward off the St. Anne's team. The final score of 3-8 to 3-5 ensured that the points were going to Kildalkey.

SA2

Well done to the boys on a successful first outing - hopefully there will be plenty more results like this throughout the year!

End of Year League

Well done to the boys and girls who competed in the end of year school leagues this year.

We had 70 children who competed in the leagues from 4th, 5th and 6th. This year was football and we had some great matches all through the divsions. The semi finals were held on Tuesday, 24th June with finals on June 25th.

Eventually, we were left with two teams in the Cup final. In a very evenly fought match, Ciarán's team got the better of Conor's team on a score line of 6-4 to 5-4. It was a superbly fought game with great skills shown - well done to both teams on a fitting finale.
