Scientists Secure Best Visual Display
Well done to our four Mini Scientists who won an award at the Grand Final of the Intel Mini Scientists!

To get to the final yesterday was a huge achievement. 8,000 students in 135 schools throughout the country took part in the Intel Mini Scientist competition this year. Only 28 projects made it to the final, incorporating 100 students.

The girls displayed their projects among the other 27 and explained it impeccably to all visitors and judges. In what was a tiring day, the girls really did their school proud!

Afterwards, the winners were called out at an awards ceremony. Imagine their delight when they were announced as the Best Visual Display of the entire competition!

Well done to all the girls on what was a tremendous achievement! Thanks also to all the parents, especially Janet who gave great assistance to the girls throughout the last few months.
Well done Anna, Ellen, Meadhbh and Shannon!
Oliver! Success
Our third and fifth classes put on their production of Oliver on Thursday, 1st February in Mullingar Arts Centre.
And what a treat they gave us!
In what was a superb production, we heard great songs, saw great acting performances, admired the costumes, the sets, the great work and preparation that had clearly gone into all the production and stood and clapped until our hands were sore!
The songs and perfomances will live long in the memory. Well done to all who were involved from Lorcán and his helpers to Miss O'Donnell and Mr. Conneely. And that's not without forgetting the children, all of whom were superb on the night!
Well done to all involved!
Finally, we have some footage of one of the songs - enjoy as Ronan shows us his glorious singing voice!
Diamante Poetry
Last week, the pupils got to learn about diamante poetry. A diamante or diamond poem is a poem with no rhyme in the shape of a diamond using nouns, adjectives and verbs. Take a look below at some of the diamante poems created by the class.

Oliver!
The third and fifth classes would like to present their musical production, Oliver on Thursday, February 1st in Mullingar Arts Centre.
The musical is on this Thursday at 7.30. Tickets are available from the school. Family tickets are €20, tickets for adults 10 euro.
We are looking forward to the production! Break a leg!

Best of luck to our fifth class girls who are representing the school in the Intel Mini Scientist Grand Final this Friday, February 2nd.
They will be displaying their project 'DNA in our genes' in the Helix in DCU.
If you would like to come view their project, and indeed any of the projects that have made it this far, the exhibitions will be on display from 9.15 to 11 and again from 12 to 1.
Best of luck to Anna, Ellen, Meadhbh and Shannon on the day - the school is very proud of their achievement in getting this far and we are sure they'll do us proud on the day!
