Girls' Mini 7s Finals
Well done to girls' Mini 7s team who performed so well in the Mini 7s finals today in Dunganny.
Drawn in a very tough group against Dunboyne and Dangan, the girls battled admirably against both teams. Losing by five points at half time against Dangan, the girls battled superbly to hit the front against them with some superb scores from Jessica and Hollie. Unfortunately, they were hit with a sucker punch when Dangan broke upfield at the end and scored what proved to be the winning score, with Kildalkey the wrong side of a 2-2 to 2-1 scoreline.
They then faced off against a very strong Dunboyne outfit. Though doing extremely well for long periods in the first half, Dunboyne managed to break through for 4 goals in a 2 minute period, which put a very unfair reflection on the scoreboard. Kildalkey then played some great football in the second half, scoring 1-4 to 0-1 in that period, completely outplaying the overall champions of the Mini 7s, no mean feat. Overall though, the damage had been done with the concession of those goals.
Well done to the team and their captains, Kayla and Lauren. They can certainly hold their heads up high!

Success on the football fields
The GAA season restarted for Kildalkey N.S. this week with the Mini 7s football leagues taking place.
The girls did brilliantly in their regional section beating Ballivor, Rathmore and Gaelscoil na Bóinne en route to winning out their section. They will now play in the finals on Monday, 31st March. Best of luck to them!
Not to be outdone, the boys then won their section, defeating Boardsmill and Rath Cairn in two keenly contested matches. As the regional section had been delayed, they then had to play the finals the following day. Putting in superb performances, they defeated Castletown before going on to play Skryne. Putting in a skillful performance, they fought all the way. Unfortunately, it transpired that they had lost by a point at the final whistle, when many believed they had actually drawn, which would have put them through to the semi final. Nevertheless, they can hold their heads up high after some superb performances.
Well done to all involved. The camogie and hurling training are in full swing so we can look forward to the Mini 7s and then Cumann na mBunscol matches in both codes.
Leinster's Cups visit Kildalkey
This week, we were lucky to be visited by Fergus from Athboy rugby club who brought Leinster's cups from last year with him!
Last year, in the 2012/13 season, Leinster won the Amlin Challenge Cup, the Rabo ProDirect Cup and the British and Irish Cup.
All the classes got to see all of the cups and have a look at them. Many thanks to Leinster and Athboy Rugby Club for bringing them out to us!
