Cheque Presentation
The recent fundraiser for the victims of the Nepal Earthquake was a huge success, with a colossal €1,148.04 being raised for those in need in Nepal.

Well done to all involved, who helped organise it and who contributed to such a worthy cause.

Nepal Fundraiser
Kildalkey National School stood for a minute of silence last Friday to commemorate the victims of the Nepal earthquake.

All classes came together and held hands in a minute of solidarity to show their compassion towards those less fortunate that have been affected by the earthquake in Nepal.

There was a collection afterwards for the unfortunate citizens of Nepal.
Well done to Mrs. Cogavin for orchestrating the collection and to all who stood for the minute of silence and those who contributed to the fundraiser. It is going to a deserving cause.

Army Band Visit
The school were treated to a fantastic visit lately from the Army Band, who hail from the Mullingar Barracks.
Beginning at 11 o'clock, they put on a great display for the school, showing the students the various instruments of the orchestra while playing some well known tunes.
Hits such as 'Happy', a cartoon medley (shown below), Skyfall (from James Bond) and Ireland's Call kept the students, staff and parents in good spirits and hugely entertained!!
They even had time to allow some children play instruments with them and they really enjoyed shaking the percussion instruments along with the band!
Margaret got a rousing Happy Birthday played to her and the day ended with some students actually conducting the band, including a very happy Junior Infant!
Thanks again to the band for playing for us and to Mr. Fox for organising the whole event!
