Preparations for the building of Kildalkey's N.S.'s new building got underway this week with the Turning of the Sod. Bishop Michael Smith travelled to Kildalkey N.S. to turn the sod and celebrate the beginning of the new school building.

A beautiful ceremony was had, with readings from sixth class, tin whistle playing from second class and some harmonious singing from both classes.

Bishop Smith turned the sod, under the watchful eye of Mr. Fox, Colin Finnegan (chairman of the Board of Management) and parish priest Fr. Mohan.

Afterwards, refreshments were had in the staff room, set up and catered for by Angie, Pat and Pauline. A stunning cake was also prepared by Miss Wynn.

Thanks to all who participated in the ceremony. This is a very exciting time in Kildalkey N.S., with building due to start in the next couple of weeks.
