Hard Luck Girls

Hard luck to our brilliant girls' team who lost out in the Division 3 final against Gaelscoil Éanna.

Against a strong wind in the first half, the girls battled well and were well in the game, coming up to half time. However, a goal before half time coupled with an injury to midfielder Jennah were to prove crucial.

The girls started well in the second half and boosted by some superb defending from Sarah, Caoimhe and Megan made inroads into the deficit and 3 points from Niamh, Aoife and Lucy helped narrow the margin. However, a further injury to Ruth didn't help their cause and their fate was sealed when Gaelscoil Éanna nabbed a second goal towards the end.

The girls can feel very proud of their work this year and though the final result was disappointing, it has been a very successful year otherwise. Well done to them.

Thanks to all the parents for bringing them to training and to matches and thanks also to Miss Kennedy and Chloe for all the work they did with them throughout the year.
