World Book Day 2026
World Book Day 2026
The children had great fun celebrating World Book Day in our classroom. We enjoyed lots of activities throughout the day, including creating colourful bookmarks, designing a new cover for our favourite books and even reading our favourite book outside in the sunshine. Many of the children dressed up as their favourite book characters, which made the day even more exciting. We also loved taking part in Reading Trains with 5th Class, sharing stories and enjoying time reading together.

Grandparents Day 2026
Grandparents Day 2026
The children celebrated Grandparents Day by performing Mary Had a Little Lamb on the tin whistle as part of our school concert. Afterwards, we welcomed the grandparents into our classroom where they shared stories with the children about what school was like when they were young.
The First Class performance has also been uploaded to Seesaw so that grandparents who were unable to attend on the day can still enjoy watching it.

Aboriginal Art 2026
Australia
Aboriginal dot painting and its importance in storytelling and connection to the land. They looked at examples of patterns, symbols, and colours used in this unique art style and discussed some of the animals found in Australia. Using what they learned, the children then created their own artwork of Australian animals using dot patterns inspired by Aboriginal art, creating vibrant pictures.

January 2026
Schools in the past
In January we learned about Schools in the past and the difference between schools then and now.
We tried an art lesson from the old schools days using charcoal to create winter scenes.
We also had a great time in PE looking at different ways to balance on different body parts and travelling across the mats.

Saint Brigid 2026
Saint Brigid's Cross
Our school community recently celebrated the feast of Saint Brigid, honouring her values of faith, kindness, and generosity.
We were delighted to mark the occasion with a special focus on her lasting legacy.
A sincere thank you to the Jordan Family for their generous donation.
The beautifully hand-crafted wooden cross is a meaningful and lasting gift to our school.
It will be treasured by our community for many years to come.
