Second Class
Hurling with Pat
Second Class have been really enjoying their hurling sessions this term with Pat. They have been developing their skills, teamwork, and confidence each week while having great fun.

February Art
The children in 2nd Class had great fun with art during February. They celebrated St. Brigid’s Day with lovely themed artwork and also created colourful Valentine’s art inspired by the story Love Monster by Rachel Bright, focusing on friendship and kindness.

January Fabric & Fibre
This January, the children in 2nd Class explored the Fabric and Fibre strand in Visual Art. They learned all about wool — where it comes from and how it is used in everyday life. The children also created small, imaginative pieces using fabric and fibre. Take a look at their wonderful woolly hats!

January - Space
We have been learning all about Space this month! We loved discovering the planets in our Solar System and learning why the Sun is so important to Planet Earth.
We also explored places on Earth that are affected by the Sun, including the Sahara Desert, and learned about desert animals and how they survive in such hot, sunny environments.
Using everything we learned this month, we created projects about the Moon, the Sun, Earth, and Constellations.

Let's Go Nationwide Art Competition Winner!
We are delighted to share some fantastic news!
One of our 2nd Class pupils, Rosie, has been selected as the overall nationwide winner of the Let’s Go Art Competition. This is a remarkable achievement, made even more special as it was the very first Let’s Go art competition.
Thanks to Rosie’s winning poster, 2nd Class has been awarded a FREE Let’s Go school tour in 2026!
We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful effort made by all pupils in 2nd Class who took part in the competition. We are very proud of everyone involved.
A huge congratulations to Rosie on this outstanding achievement!
