WORLD BOOK DAY

We had a really lovely day for world book day, some children dressed up as their favourite book characters. Fionn dressed up as Jack and the Beanstalk and he won best dressed for our class, well done Fionn!! We spent the day reading different stories, acting out different scenes and creating our favourite characters through Art. We had a lovely time. 

Easter Egg hunt!

For our last day before the Easter holidays we had a little Easter egg hunt around the school. The children had great fun trying to find all the hidden eggs, they worked as a team telling each other where the different colours were. We made some lovely Easter bunny hats and we are very excited for our holidays after a very busy and successful term. Well done to all the children!!!

Congratulations

This week, Kyle, Sophia, Bobby and Daniel made their first confession with Second Class. We are so proud of all of the children involved. It was a very special moment for the children in Féileacáin who have worked so hard on their prayers but also getting used to the church setting over the last number of months. They made the whole school and staff very proud. 

Grandparents Day

We were very lucky this month because our lovely granparents got to come in and join us for Grandparents day. We got to colour together and show them our classroom. Some of the children performed in concerts for their grandparents also.

Sensory Yoga

This month we started Sensory yoga and we are loving it. It helps us relax and regulate and the sounds and different colours we get to see are really enjoyable. 

Pancake Tuesday

We got to decorate some delicious treats for Pancake Tuesday, we had lots of fun!!

Inspire Award

Well done to Sophia who won the Inspire Award this month. She is so kind to everyone in our class and our school. She brings so much joy to all of us here in Kildalkey. 

January 2024

Visiting the Church

Some of the children in our class will be making their First Holy Communion with 2nd class this year, we are visiting the church weekly to help us with getting to know the building. We also practice our prayers that we are learning when we are there. Next up for us is our first confession. 

Cooking in Féileacáin

This month we started cooking. We are working on building up our life skills and sharing with each other while also working as a team. We are loving it and we are creating some delicious treats. 

Fine Motor Skills and Zones of Regulation 

We have been very busy working on our fine motor skills, which has made a massive improvement to our handwriting. We are so proud of all the progress that is happening. The children have also started the Zones of Regulation program and are really enjoying learning about all the different emotions.
